It became apparent that I tended to be the photographer rather than the subject when looking through old albums and seeing fewer photos of me the older I got and more photos of my friends and family. It was only a matter of time before I was able to pursue a career in photography and launched my business in 2007. Since then, I’ve worked in Alaska co-running a studio and print shop along with working for a sports photographer and of course capturing the gorgeous surroundings that Alaska offers. When my wife and I came back to Minnesota in 2009 it took some time for my business AD2 Photography to get back out shooting events and culture. I’ve captured moments from -32F Winter Beer Festivals to 98F Farm Dinners.

The name AD2 comes from a combination of my initials Aaron Davidson and the year I was born, 82. I know for some it’s read in different ways, but as long as the idea behind it stays the same.

You don’t make a photograph with just a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.
